There is not a business on the planet that hasn't thought about setting marketing goals for 2021, and at least given thought to how they are going to keep them. Most companies spend November and December bringing together key stakeholders in a business to discuss the next years business, sales and marketing goals. They do this in the form of a series of workshops, and what's really great about this, is even if you have a small business, a mini-workshop is invaluable for brainstorming how your business can do better in the year ahead.
Having started the year with more enthusiasm than ever before, we are embarking on deploying ways in which to best market our business in 2021. Like any good marketer, I thought I would share a few ways in which we will be marketing our business in the year ahead.
A change in a calendar year is significant for many people around the world, mostly because it allows us to reflect on our life, personal and professional goals and our dreams.

Quite often, we make the same new years resolutions as we may have done the year before, simply because we didn't commit to the our goals in the way we had hoped. However, there is good news for those who don't quite make good on their New Years Resolutions as you are more likely to achieve it when it becomes a goal that is repetitive.

A new year - what a relief

As I woke up on January 1, 2021, at 4.59a.m. I could feel myself breathe a sigh of relief. Finally, it is a new day, in a new year, and everything that came before that moment no longer holds me or anyone else down.

Like many, 2020 was my second least favourite year, just marginally behind the year before where I said goodbye to my dog.

During the year, I struggled. I wasn’t alone, but at times I actually was, both physically and mentally. Like many entrepreneurs, I was challenged with not only my own life, but the lives of those around me.

As a professional services firm, customer experience is in part about relationships and how well a marketing consultant listens to the customer’s needs, deciphers it, and executes on providing a solution to a problem.

Competition is rife for all businesses especially due to the impact of COVID. With an increasing number of people unemployed, the marketing profession has especially been affected by lay-offs and changing working conditions.

The festive season is fast approaching and many companies are wondering what to do. It hasn't been the best year for business and for many, working from home means that there is less interaction with their service providers. The big question for many marketers is what should they do when it comes to Christmas gifting for clients? Gift boxes are all the rage but can you really send it to your clients home? Is that an invasion of privacy?
With retrenchments far and wide, it comes as no surprise that many businesses have let their CMO’s go in lieu of a more cost-effective outsourced CMO from reputable companies like Marketing Eye.

Is performance marketing the future?

As more and more people buy online it is becoming abundantly clear that performance marketing is one of the most successful ways e-commerce sites are winning new customers.

My biggest leadership fail

On January 7 this year, I opened by diary for the first time in 2020. It was a remarkable moment, one that was so full of promise. Like any entrepreneur on the rise (or at least I thought that was to be the case), I had written down the goals I had set out for the year ahead in my diary in December.
