Marketing and Christmas time

I went and did some last minute Christmas shopping last weekend, squeezing and weaving my way through the crazy busy crowds, dodging the Sunday strollers whilst pumping the strong coffees into my exhausted body. But something occurred to me whilst shopping, I see Christmas very differently to the average Aussie shopper. I came to the conclusion it was my work, my career in marketing has significantly changed and remolded my outlook on the Christmas season. Is it for the better or the worse? Who knows? But what I know is this. 

 

Yes, I know what you're thinking! How can Beyoncé and marketing possibly be related and at all connected? But if we look really closely at both Beyonce and Marketing, we discover that they are so interconnected it isn’t funny.

Rethinking Entrepreneurship

We have four (4) gun marketing interns in our Sydney office, and given that they seemed to love chatting to each other and working together, we gave them a task to write a blog. We didn't expect quite this though...

Our expectations as marketing interns

Wow! How time has flown. This incredible thing happened to me on Friday and today I found out why Marketing Eye Sydney has finally found its soul and place as a high energy, high performing culture amongst an international marketing firm that breeds marketing professionals.
We have the most amazing marketing internship program, and the biggest benefit for us is the privilege to see people grow in confidence and capabilities. The fact that after an internship they should be able to go out into the world and add value to any entry-based marketing position, is something that we are extremely proud of.

Why so many people are lonely today

We are all living in silos that are outside the real world and in little cubicles that where we control everything.

At first, we thought it was a brilliant idea. Innovation that gives us everything we want, at our finger tips, when we want it and how we want it.

Until...
Today I met with a remarkable, young woman who has the world at her feet. She is intelligent, well-spoken and might I add, well-presented... not that that means too much, but what I am alluding to is that she has the full package.
It doesn't take long to realise that some marketing professionals are more competent and successful than others because they inherently have skills that other's don't. You can get by as a marketer with sound writing skills, a firm understanding of marketing with continuous training and development. Most employers would be happy with this, and I have to say that I find employees that have this background to be more than ok. However, if you truly want to be successful, and out-shine the rest of the pack, you need this skill:
Just when I thought I was getting comfortable with millennials, I have been bombarded with a new type of marketer in the office.
