As a fast growing company, we are hiring new people across marketing, graphic design, software engineering and web development. It's an interesting time as while we have just gotten use to millennials, its now time to dig a little younger and foster growth in graduates.

Have you ever wondered why you hire two people with the same skills, identical degrees and similar project experience, but one appears to be significantly better than the other?

Today I met with a remarkable, young woman who has the world at her feet. She is intelligent, well-spoken and might I add, well-presented... not that that means too much, but what I am alluding to is that she has the full package.

How to get a big payrise

With all of this talk on what some people do to reach their career goals in Hollywood, it seems that we have forgotten the 'real' world.

In the real world, to get a big pay rise, you have to work really hard, ensure that the company is profiting from your work at a rate that is commensurate with industry standards.

I'm the person who is always at the office at 7am.

My office in Sydney is all the more special at that time of day as I look at the harbour, soak in the constant flow of trains going through and watch the cars flow to a point where they stop, as traffic becomes jammed as everyone rushes to work at the same time.

There has been so many changes in marketing over the past 12 months, that not too many marketers can honestly say that they are totally 100% up to speed.

We try in ernst to be up-to-date and continually upskill our people, but it doesn't always work out to plan, particularly when they are busy doing their day jobs.

That's why it's so important for marketers at all levels to take time out of their day to work on themselves and their capabilities in marketing each and every week as part of their routine.

We are presently looking for a talented marketing executive in Sydney. Someone with one to two years' experience, with a passion for being the best marketer possible.

As a company we have so much to offer our young team, and we know that they will learn more at Marketing Eye than possibly any other position in marketing elsewhere.

The challenges of running a professional services firm are many. What most of my counterparts would say is that it's people that determine whether you are successful or not - and this is correct.

There are many challenges running an international marketing agency. The first being the tyranny of distance, with travel being instrumental in providing real life face-time in front of staff and clients. The second, the fact that many marketers struggle to be abreast of the latest in marketing techniques and technologies.

We have built a business on education and the training of marketers through on-the-job experiences. When someone has worked for a year at Marketing Eye, they are equipped to do any marketing job. It's something we pride ourselves on and has set us apart from the rest of the pack of small to medium sized business marketers.

When a marketing manager starts at Marketing Eye, they often feel overwhelmed. They need to learn fast and efficiently, and face-time with clients is always within weeks of starting through meetings and online communications, which require them to know everything there is to know about the client and exactly what the clients marketing expectations are.
