Brands you can trust
Bonjour! Yes, I have been in Paris, doing a bit of business and enjoying the beautiful Autumn Parisan weather.
Like many people that have travelled to the city of love, I am totally besotted by its beauty and the promises it holds for anyone that visits.
When I think of Paris, I don’t just think of the Louvre or the Eiffel Tower, but of the beautiful vistas, the buildings with so much history, the food, the wine and most of all, the people. Unlike many of my counterparts, I love French people. They are so passionate about their culture, their country and their language and as a marketer, you really have to appreciate anyone who has passion.
As I farewelled Paris, I had an hour to spare at Charles de Gaulle Airport and after meeting a lovely lady by the name of Maria at the airport who coincidentally came from Sydney, we trawled through the aisles of every available shop.
Eventually we made our way to the cosmetics counter and I quickly made my way to my favourite skincare range, Chanel.
Chanel to me is a trusted brand. No matter what the price of a product is, I feel like I am getting quality every time and on this occasion the brand did not disappoint.
Maria is a make-up artist and knows a thing or two about skincare. She is in her very early 40’s and looks 10 years younger than me! As we asked questions of the assistant in regards to creams that safeguard our skin from wrinkles, she quickly identified that we both did not need the ‘botox’ surprise pack of creams as they were for skin much older and much more damaged. Instead, she put us onto Beaute Initiale Eye, an energizing multi-protection eye gel. Given that we both suffered from anaemia and dark rings around our eyes the minute we did not get enough sleep, didn’t drink enough water or didn’t take our iron tablets, we were hoping for a miracle.
We both were hesitant on buying the eye gel because the other one seemed to us to be botox in a bottle and given that we both were not into botox and in particular injections, it seemed like the perfect solution.
In the end, we took her advice and walked out of the shop secretly remembering the name and every detail of the other ’solution’ to our problems – just in case.
Now, for a few days I have been using the eye gel and I no longer have dark rings under my eyes, no matter how much sleep, water or iron tablets I have. It is a miracle worker! I have never used a product quite like it. For $80 or there abouts, I have the solution I have always dreamt of.
It is kind of like cellulite gel that I bought from Chanel 2 years ago. I started using it and almost immediately the appearance of cellulite evaporated. Unfortunately, I ran out of product and after a year of not using it, the cellulite firmly returned, but it did work.
Am I just a sucker for a brand, or is Chanel really a brand you can trust? Whatever the case, my brand experience is beyond anything else I have ever experienced and as an avid consumer, I have to say it continually lives up to my expectations.
Thank you Chanel!
