Disrupt right now, or 2017 may be your end game
I constantly have people contact me in relation to disrupting my industry and I laugh. Clearly they don't read my blogs as I am 5 steps ahead. First mistake. Second mistake is I take the opportunity to look at their businesses and while the buzzwords come in hard and fast, they have no substance to break it up.
Big consulting firm are not disrupting fast enough
If you look at the big consulting firms; how have they disrupted themselves? Are they equipped and experienced to disrupt your business or are they just selling yet another product to the market to increase sales by companies that foolishly believe that because they are a big firm, only they have the answers.
Proof is in the pudding, and of course, we can see just how much they are feeling the pain of 'trying' but not really being equipped.
Technology firms outplay big consulting firms time and time again. This is a fact and why the investment in technology has become more than predictions from analysts of the past.
You need to disrupt
The truth of the matter is that companies need to disrupt their organisations or be disrupted and perhaps even obsoletel.
Outplaying the competition and bringing forth your biggest and winning game is imperative to success. Bringing your people on this journey though is easier said than done. Changing your thinking is easier than changing the thinking of those around you. Transforming your business takes work and a lot of thought - usually best done with everyone collaborating and being part of the bigger picture going forth.
Remembering that technologies can easily be copied and leapfrogged, companies like mine, either choose to give it a go, or wait to see who moves first, then get with the program.
Entrepreneurs need to take the lead
As an entrepreneur, I am constantly innovating and believing in the new and ousting the old. In preparation for the future, we live the future and don't sit back and wait for someone to tell us how it should be done. This is a huge investment, but pertinent to growth and company positioning.
2017 is going to be a make or break year for many companies. Disrupting what you believe in and changing your business model is challenging but must be done.
I'm looking forward to sharing our plans with you. They are innovative, ahead of the game and mostly disruptive. Goodbye direct competition. Bring on, new competition that is constantly pushing us forward to push boundaries - just the way we like it.
