In such a competitive market, small businesses face a unique blend of marketing challenges. Maintaining, achieving and succeeding as a small business is hard. Finding time to market your business in such an environment is not easy.
A first world problem for sure, but it is one I see regularly as an entrepreneur and one who travels widely around the world.

We all work hard. I don't have children, but I see a lot. I have opinions, just like most, but there is some substance in my opinions because I have been around for a long time.

Parents work hard to build their businesses and wealth. They do so because mostly, they didn't grow up with the wealth that they would have liked, or perhaps they just want to live a better life.

They accumulate wealth, with that comes big houses, flash cars, holidays in the South of France and skiing in Aspen, and so on.

I'd be lying if I said that there weren't quite a few things that have held me back as an entrepreneur, and been the catalyst to 'not being an overnight success story'.

After 17 years in business, I have created my dream job. I work for no-one. I answer to no-one. I go to work everyday with enthusiasm because I don't have to go to work - I just love every single bit about my job.

My theory being that if you hold those three of life’s gifts close to your heart, the money will follow.

After over 20 years in marketing industry, I’ve pretty much seen it all.

Then I meet a client that achieves the impossible, and recently, for me that was Frank Richmond, the Founder of Cirrus Networks.

Are rich people the most unhappy?

I sat in my car on my one-hour journey to work in the frantic combustion of Melbourne peak hour traffic, I flicked the radio channel from Mix to Fox Fm to Nova trying to find some music, anything to pass the time. As per usual, there was no music playing but rather the drone of their voices over the latest hot gossip on celebrities and news of the world.

As they chatted about celebrities’ latest love affairs, divorces, D.U.I (drinking under the influence), drug dependencies and criminal convictions I wondered what a life of money and fame would be like.

I have unavoidably heard information relating to Lara Bingle’s nude photo and the update according to various media includes her selling her story for up to $200,000 and that quite possibly given that this was a 4 year old photograph, that she actually leaked it herself with her new management.
