I'm embarassed to say that I have let down my readers because I have been so busy working on innovation and developing the Marketing Eye business, that I haven't had a minute to scratch myself. I don't think that I have ever taken so long to write a marketing blog in the entire history of Marketing Eye, and I've missed it as much as you may have.
Ive been stuck writing my own marketing strategy

Business has been mammoth. I have been totally encapsulated in working "on" the business and not "in" the business, and taking the business into a new generation that will shock everyone once we have shared our new narrative.

We took a brave leap

While many marketing companies have been focused on acquiring new clients, and re-selling existing marketing technologies, we took a brave leap into developing the next generation of marketing technologies with a partnership at Queensland University of Technology. What will be unveiled in August 2018 will change the game. A disruptive technology which will ensure that the industry is never the same again.

Bold statements, I know, but the reality is that marketing was ripe for disruption and no-one really took the baton... but it hasn't been easy and I've had to rethink by business, the industry and what to make of the hundreds of thousands of students who are studying marketing today.

Our industry is flawed

But our industry is flawed. Everything we do is based on internet research, small focus groups, data that we have access to, and of course, our own experiences and that of others. It's not enough to write the most powerful marketing campaigns that the industry is capable of, but too afraid to take on - perhaps in fear that once they do, there is no return.

We all want legacies of some description whether they are personal or professional. For anyone who knows me, I am quite the workaholic and was always destined to make work my priority. Finally, in my own mind I have achieved what I set out to do. I am going to launch something that makes me prouder than any other achievement I have ever done, and hopefully that will not just be my legacy, but one to the industry that I have spent the past 25 years in.

Just Marketing Strategies

In the interim, I have some learning to do, and that means ensuring that Marketing Eye is working with industry and developing powerful marketing strategies. We will still have our very capable team writing them, but with more resources that we cannot disclose at this point making them smarter and ensuring that they have a greater impact than what one written last week might have had.
