Just days before Christmas, farmers throughout Queensland received a final blow. Not only had they endured years of drought, only to see some light at the end of the tunnel, but Chinese whispers had them flocking to the local newsagency to buy a copy of News Limited newspapers, to see if it was true that they were in fact "losing their land and livelihood".

As they read the newspaper advertisement, they considered the fact that they had no pre-warning, no consultation and no consideration - and realised more so than ever, that as a minority they have no power.
As a entrepreneur who has a belief that you should always finish something you start, I am hell-bent on Marketing Eye's global expansion, and the only thing that holds the company back is my ability to travel more often given that I have a dog at home to look after.

Baring this in mind, we expanded to the US, and have done so in a way that we can trial operating remotely and within a management style that is conducive to me getting enough sleep and being present to whatever team I am working with at the time.
The professional services industry can't be blackmailed by fake employee anonymous reviews, and it's infuriating websites that make a living out of encouraging negative reviews and putting them to the top of the pile, and then going to the company and trying to sell "reputation management services".
The time is nigh.

Imagine the feeling when you just realise that you have been dragging your feet when you should have been sprinting to the finish line? I feel kind of like that with our European expansion and our reluctance to expand into Asia.
I've had a phenomenal start to the new year - by choice.

I chose to look at 2017, literally through a new set of glasses, and with a mindset that begs for change.

Change is a strange word, because it means so many things to people, and rarely does it mean the same from one person to another.

I encapsulate my thoughts on change, by looking at my life and how fortunate I have been, then looking ahead and seeing what purpose I have that underpins my next stage of this incredible journey.
A few years back, we expanded into the US market. As an entrepreneur, I am not only passionate about growing a business, but also creating jobs for people particularly in areas with high unemployment.

Atlanta was my first choice, and my second was New York.

5 Ways to start afresh in 2017

There are many things that we do when we have time off; catch up with family and friends, play sport, watch television and do all the things we haven't had time to do throughout the year. When the time comes to get back to work, many of us think about what we can do to have the best year possible. I know that this has certainly been on my mind.
Just when we thought the new role of Martech was up there with new and innovative, the marketing industry just became seriously disrupted.

If you thought your marketing degree would teach you what you need to know to get a job in marketing, think again. While some think that understanding the basis of marketing technologies will give them the edge, it may so for the next year, but after that - forget it.
Personal growth is not something you just stumble upon. It's something that you have to acknowledge, own, believe in, and work at.
I'm so excited to start a new year and go full steam ahead on both my personal and professional goals.
