The perils of being an entrepreneur are many.
We get overly excited over good ideas, we take people not paying their bills personally, we want to scream when our employees don’t take quality control as being important, we react when perhaps we should have slept on it, and we stay up all night long working on getting in new business, changing the way we do things to be more innovative and more customer centric or just because we are so damn passionate.
When it comes to staying up all night coming up with great ideas, it’s more important what we do afterwards then what we are doing at 2am in the morning.
You see, whilst we sit in our home studies, working away on our laptops, checking our blackberries and reading endless data on how to be better, we eventually have to go to sleep.
We then wake up tired with a sense of accomplishment. We go into the office and then the real world hits us. A client is unhappy (not at Marketing Eye!), an employee is sick, accounts need to be paid and we have meetings.
So often, these great ideas are put to the way-side because entrepreneurs have to run businesses.
And… it’s often marketing that falls into this category.
The hangover from staying up all night leaves us forgetful, absent minded and focused on just what is in front of us.
The good leaders of the world, know this.

Apatow films aren’t all about the raunchiness – not sure how you come to that idea. His greatest directorial piece, Knocked Up, has a a couple trashy scenes, but its theme of a Peter Pan type eventually having to grow older and accept responsibility for his decisions is a good story, and it was the sparse film that most women and men could enjoy together, it isn’t a chick-flick nor gross-a-thon. Much of his other film treads similar ground. I love guy films, and I want there were more of it out there – the world needs more teenage sex comedies in these depressing times
